On the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion I stream a long program built from four years of my own filming in Ukraine, opening with Ukrainian music and street performers from Kyiv. The stream started late after a power cut.
The first interview is with an American volunteer who was captured by Russian forces and later released; he describes how he was taken, how Russian officers treated prisoners, and the US government's contact with his family. A researcher from the human rights group ZMINA then explains its work documenting torture, enforced disappearances and illegal detention in occupied territory, including figures on interrogation torture.
Later segments include Kherson residents who lived under occupation, a Defender rally at which families of Azovstal and Marine prisoners spoke, the story of two brothers from Berdyansk home for Christmas after three and a half years of captivity, and a preview of next week's guests.
